It was a perfect weekend, sunny, cloudless, warm, and wonderful. We went off to the Cape and trapsed on the beach, and totally unplugged. No Internet, no TV, no phone, no nothing.
It was fabulous, I read a ton, knit my little fingers off, and enjoyed. The Little G kept bringing me the TV clicker of the unplugged, de-cabled cathode ray tube and wondering why it was broken. Over and over we kept trying to explain it just did not work. She just could not wrap her tiny little brain around the concept of “No TV”. We also had the amazing experience of watching a hawk devour his dinner at the end of the driveway. And yes my kids watched, every gory detail, with interest.
I’ll reserve to a later date the determination that watching a hawk devour a bunny’s head turns kids into serial killers. My office mates seem to think that there is a high probability.
