“Fin, How was school?”

“Good. Loud.”

“Fin who are the loud kids in your class?”

“How many kids in my class other than me?”

“14″

“14 of them are loud.”

Ahh, ASD, gotta love it.  This was the conversation between my husband and Fin last night.  Hubby was cooking, Fin was playing and the entire interaction occurred without a single incidence of eye contact.

And when Fin is a bit older you can ask him to ‘define’ what he means by loud. That’s always a hoot and holler because it blows your mind on what someone with ASD thinks is loud compared to a NT.
