What is Up with THAT?

I cannot lie, with Captain Echolalia we sometimes have a little fun.  He is at the right age where it is masked a little bit with the typically annoying habit of 4 year olds to repeat everything you say any way.  Hubby will coach Fin into certain phrases that tend to stick, like….

“What is Up with THAT?!?!”

or

“What the……..?”

This week he picked up:

“Back to the barn yard you stink”

That phrase is really great! Yea, not so much.

What is UP with this week?? (to steal from Fin) My kids have been totally out of their MINDS.  We had a night this week where the 2 of them were in their beds crying their brains out for no particular reason.  And how horrible are we that hubby and I were crouching on the stairs LAUGHING about it.   The total lunacy of it.  We put Fin’s noise cancelling headphones on him so at least he could stop crying.  The Girl was taking out her paci, throwing across the room and then yelling, and crying she “dropped” it in a ploy to get us to come back in. I think the Terrible 2’s are rearing it’s ugly head early.

On top of it all, I STILL have a cold/flu (week 3) AND I had a scare.  Last week I had tummy pain that was so bad there were tears streaming down my cheeks.  Hubby was seriously considering an ER visit.  It abated as soon as it began, and when I did finally go to the Dr. I received a stern talking to.  I have GERD, bad.  Really bad.  And I stopped taking my meds because they really were not helping, I was having lots of “break through” reflux.  The morning of my gastro attack I dumped coffee on an empty tummy, because the night before I fore-went supper due to tummy troubles. I know, “DUH”.   I received a long lecture, with a blow by blow on how totally terrible esophageal cancer is, and ulcers.  Because I am a pretty good candidate for those too.  SOooooo……new meds, dosage is doubled, will likely be doubled again.  My regular daily diet is reduced to pretty much rice and water.  No alcohol, no soda, no chocolate, no OJ, no tea, no coffee.

Right. Um, I don’t think so.

I will follow the other rules, but the coffee must stay.  Chocolate, fine, buh-bye.

Coffee, no way.

Wow- I don’t know what I would do if I had to lose my life-force either. My “mom-in-law” has something going on where she’s supposed to drink only decaf, but her coffee love is too strong too. Yeah, if I had to choose between coffee and my significant other? I’d give him a kiss before he left.
